Blue Planet wins awards for three categories at The Global CSR Awards and The Good Governance Awards

Blue Planet has been recognised for making a positive impact in the waste management sector through innovation and practices of good governance. The awards recognise organisations for outstanding, innovative and world-class products that demonstrate the company’s leadership, sincerity and on-going commitment in incorporating ethical values, respect for individuals, communities and the environment in the way they do business.

Despite the challenges of this year, over 300 companies applied to the 12th award cycle, demonstrating that organisations remain committed to the goal of sustainable development. Blue Planet’s entry for Best Environmental Excellence, Product Excellence and Best Corporate Communication & Investor Relations won awards, having earned the recognition of an esteemed panel of judges.

The vision of the company is to move away from traditional waste management solutions to a circular model of development earned it a Platinum Award for the Best Environmental Excellence (companies with a market capitalisation less than USD 1 Billion) category.

By using an end-to-end model, Blue Planet secures exclusive access to waste streams from the point of generation that gives the company the ability to manage, process and efficiently upcycle waste. Blue Planet firmly operates from a paradigm of resource management and upcycling, not waste disposal.

“The integrated solution provided by Blue Planet aims to establish a new standard of waste management, one that combines social inclusion, environmental conservation and positive financial returns to create a synergistic sustainable solution” added Prashant Singh.

Blue Planet's entry for waste processing technologies also received a Platinum Award in the Product Excellence category. The recognition was for the unique decentralised waste management systems that are part of the Blue Planet portfolio, which are as follows:

> EnergyBin: State of the art, compact, pre-fabricated plug and play biogas plant for universal organic waste.

> Smart Creative Technologies (SCT): Proprietary unit for recycling and upcycling electronic waste.

> Virtus Concrete (Blockwalls): Bespoke, pre-cast geopolymer concrete product manufacturer and solutions provider.

Additionally, Blue Planet received a Silver Award in the Best Corporate Communication & Investor Relations category for its integrated Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) framework.

To ensure the principles of good governance are fully incorporated in decisions and operations of Blue Planet, the company has created a robust set of policies. These policies are underpinned by three key pillars which include how Blue Planet invests in any business and technology, engagement with different stakeholders to manage risk and create opportunity and lastly, reporting and compliance on principles of sustainability.
